Hi all!

Looking for a Multi-speed Wiper Motor, either 2 or 3 speed or Variable Speed. Also need a Wiper Switch, original 2 speed or 3 or variable speed [with or without a wiper motor].

Needed for Town Wagon/Town Panel, hoping Swepty is the same? If anybody knows if they're different or if there's any other models that will fit I'd appreciate the tip.

PM or post here?
Thanks!

Just a word of thanks in your direction for all you've done to keep the nuts & bolts of Dodgesweptline.org torqued up tight and all the gears lubed and tires rolling! I know there's been many midnight oil sessions and lots of hair pulling but it never went unnoticed!

Thanks, and all the best to you in your future, may it be bright!

picture this, new girlfriend, I say hey lets take the old truck out to dinner. Well, we get going, about 2 miles from the house, and BANG, dead, nothing, couple of pops while cranking. fast forward, broken timing gear. Seems that the stock one had a set of nylon or plastic teeth on the aluminum cam gear, well 42 years of service, it decided to let go, and let go it did. I got the truck home, towed it with my corolla, yeah, toyota corolla, take that bitches! I bought a new set of steel gears and a single roller chain, some gaskets, a new high volume oil pump, pan gasket, and all that crap.

on a side note, all those plastic gear pieces were in the pan, looked like gravel in there, all packed in the pick up, huge mess.

I got it all put back together, TDC, all that crap, tossed in the HEI, it was 180 out, fixed that and it started.

So,how did it run Steve? IT RAN LIKE CRAP!
wondering what the hell, went over Terry's got a compression tester.
here are the results of the compression test

1-140#
2-140#
3-90#
4-140#
5-140#
7-120#
8-90#
well now, lookin' pretty good huh?, oh, I forgot to mention number 6
6-0# yeah zero, might be my problem, YA THINK?

I'm thinking how much can a car dolly rent for, Terry has some space, i'm done! "fk ths sht!"

well, got up this morning , pulled the intake and valve covers,
9 count em, 9 bent push rods, G*d dammit! ok, ok, I will spend another 60 bucks and see if this pig will run.
got a set of new hardened push rods on e-bay $45 and a new intake gasket at napa for $18.

just the week before all this happened, I had that truck well over 90 , it was sounding good, running good and I was happy as hell.
thinking about putting some paint on it this summer.
here are a couple pictures for you viewing enjoyment

and on that second to last picture, i put it in time on porpose so you guys cant't bitch!

here is a thought, all those busted moparts might make a nice wind chime, hmmmmmm , ahhh the soft and gentle rattle of push rods bending in the wind..........keyrist! i have about lost it!

This will be the final Truck of The Week, this is the truck that started my on-line quest for information and parts, the truck that led to the Dodge Sweptline forum and the DTA. It's been a fun and rewarding ride. This photo was taken in 1968 and a great many memories still ride with that truck.

Some have emailed me regarding the lack of traffic and activity on the DTA Forum
Absolutely astute observation.
Contrary to some comments, No I have not sold the forum, although I have had a few offers, it would be like selling a child, can't do it, even when they aggravate you.
Honestly, I have lost the drive to be there nearly every hour of the day as I once did. Since my two year ordeal with my eyes, my bout with cancer and my blindness and the partial recovery of my sight, frankly, it's just tedious for me to read the computer screen.
I have been working in my shop more often and the near loss on my vision made me realize that my opportunities to see this world may be coming to an end, so I've been out in the world more, off roading and camping and enjoying every minute of life that I can.
I do feel guilty about not keeping the forum up at it's past high level and frankly, with so many people who I once considered supporters going to other sites, it has lessened my focus to keep up and I have no desire to put the vast amounts of effort into it, that I once did.
I'm really in a quandary of what to do, because It's both harder for me to maintain the site and harder to get motivated to spend the time.
I rarely ever get a truck of the week picture sent to me and that was my first clue, nearly two years ago, that interest was waning, so I had to resort to taking pictures from the Registry, or placing duplicates, both things I hate as most of the first 10 years of TOTW photos came from first hand contact with the owners of the trucks.
I'm at the point in my life that I want to spend all the time that I can, being active and out in the world, so it's with sadness and some sense of accomplishment that I announce that I'm shutting down the DTA website, at the end of May, Memorial Day 2012, 12 years after we started, in 2000.
It's been fun, I've met many, many great people along the way and made some lifelong friends. It's time to get the Parts Pile finished and go on to a new chapter in my life. You may post here until May 28th, after that the forum will be read only.

You will never know how gratified I have been to see the site grow, become number 1 on the major search engines and help keep a number of these great old trucks on the road.

I will be always grateful for your support and friendship,

This one is too cool to pass up! The Truck of The Week comes to us from Daniel, a 1968 W200. That's his Grandfather in the photo, read all about this truck at the Registry #1373 and give Daniel some support as he starts a restoration of love on this 400,000 mile survivor!

I have noted in the past when I would have oversize wheels, (ex: 16" with large tire size, my front turns would cause rubbing into the pitman arm.

I am in the process of putting together parts needed for my 67 D100 shorty.

(Please think budget when contemplating needed comments/answers.)

I have a trade going where I will end up with 4 gorgeous chrome style american racing 15" rims. (low dollar and a good deal)

PROBLEM is: they are all 4 an 8" width.

The fat look balance of front to rear will be fine with me as I can fatten up the rear and thin down the front with tire size.

First question is,.... Will I have much variety of sizes to chose from due to the known sweptline rub problem when turning lock to lock?

Second question is,... Is the rim so over/wide that the 8" wide is to big of an obstacle to even start with?

Well, everthing was going OK untill I got to the drivers rear body mount. Nut is spinning inside the metal cage that is supposed to hold it. I pulled the seat to get a better look. Put a wedge between the nut and metal cage, broke the metal cage. Now I am prob. going to have to cut a bigger hole to get in the space under the tank( the factory hole is too small to get anything in there to hold the nut) and hopefully be able to fit a wrench or channel locks in there. The nut is square. Im hoping its not going to require heat, then Ill have to pull the tank.

Has this happened to anyone else??

This is the first problem Ive had on the whole project.
Do you think this was the sorce of a lot of rattles and harsh ride??? Check yours out!!!
