Just read an article on lowering 72-93 D series trucks.
Pretty easy swap too, to lower the front 3" from stock.
All that is needed is swap out the lower control arms to "B" series vans from the mid 80's, they have a recessed pocket in the arm for the coil spring, so it will drop your ride height without cutting coils or altering spindles, etc. The guy who did it used 1-ton van arms and the pivot bolt that holds the arm to the front cross member uses a 3/4" bolt vs the 5/8" on the truck, so the hole in the cross member had to be drilled out. The van arm has larger flanges where the pivot bushing is, so some clearance grinding to the flange had to be done.
New holes also had to be drilled in the control arm for the strut rods and the bump stop had to be cut for arm travel.
It looked like a pretty nice swap to lower the front end.
So, if your attempting an IFS swap to your Sweptline this will give you an option if you really want to slam it to the ground as everybody is doing now.
