confused about the grille in my 69 D100

Need a grille for my 69 D100 stepside and looking at pictures online only confuses me. My truck has likely been hit in the front and reparied at some point in it's life since the fenders show the remains of red paint under the blue. My truck is originally blue. The grille is the style with horizontal parking lights and 4 rectangular openings. Some pictures I've looked at online show a 69 as having 8 rectangular openings and vertical parking lights. What is correct and what years will fit ? Also my hood release is very difficult to access because there's no room to fit my hand between the hood & the top of the grille. Is it possible I have the wrong hood release ? Thanks.
