I love the LA 318 and LA360 but the poly just has a much wider torque band. Has to do with the way the heads flow. as soon as you let the clutch out the power is on. the blocks are way more HD as well. they can be bored .120 over! all the poly crankshafts are forged also.
Thanks for the info. I kind of purchased my truck blindly, but the more research I'm doing the more I see the differences in each year/generation of vehicle.
What's the most desirable year mechanically? I really love the 65-67 grills. I was reading that the 383 was standard in 1967. Did all 67's come with 383s? I'm getting mixed info online.
I forgot to add that once I got the engine fired up it was soooooo quiet and smooth. I was impressed. It felt like a sewing machine.
