I have searched the archives for any information regarding putting A front clip for purposes of independent suspension. I could not find anything so I thought I would ask for a little help. I'm not interested in a after market as much as I am too weld a donor IFS onto my 1968 D300.

Not on the topic, sorry - but the frame drawings above reminded me of a question.
What are the weird "flanges" bent into the frame rails (seen above in the first image between the motor mount and the front cab mounts) for?
My '69 frame has similar ones, but I can't figure them out. Nothing attaches there, and it seems like they must at least slightly weaken the frame.
