last year I found the right gas cap for another 61 I had. I just bought another 61 and need another gas cap. Did I post the part number here? did anyone save it? I couldn't find it in the napa book this time. the 61s have to be non vented caps. they have a separate vent tube that comes out of

Every swept Ive driven since 78 with a vented cap does NOT let pressure OUT. Ive got more than 500,000 miles in more than a dozen swepts up, down and cross country. On a hot day, remove the cap and pressure whumps out around it on opening.
If u have fuel coming out around the cap, u have a bad cap or a bad gasket or filler neck causing a bad seal. Seen that many times over the yrs.
There is no need for a vent on the tank other than to keep it from collapsing. (think IV bag in a hospital)
Vapor recovery systems are to assuage the release of that pressure upon opening on a hot day.
Plastic trucks suck...
Iron trucks rule...
