I presently have a 318 four speed in a 68 D300. I need more power with cubic inches and will switch to 360 cu. inches and 727.. I will not put in 440 into the D300 due to my ford power steering not fitting as well as engine mount problems. ( frame clearances Regarding my power steering ) Question,.

If you put the 64 727 in your truck, you'll never find a 360 torque convertor to fit the tranny. Input shafts are different. 66 and down use a small input shaft on the 727, 67 and up use the large.
Unless you have a custom convertor made for the 360 with a small input hub, but you'll never find an off the shelf convertor.
Remember the 360's use a specially balanced convertor for the externally balanced motor.
