The carter thermoquad on our crew cab with 383 likes to whistle when you rev it up. At an idle there is no whistling. I first thought it was a vacuum leak but I checked all the lines and no holes or cracks. I took the air cleaner off and found the noise sounded like it was coming from the primaries

Went and confused myself again, after a long hard day! Those instructions above are for an Edelbrock Performer. Last thing I read was 'Edelbrock Performer' and off I went. Some applies to a Thermoquad, but not every little bit.

TQ's are similar but have the [phenolic resin?] plastic body, to prevent fuel percolation.

GaryO is right: Demon Sizzler is THE MAN on TQ's!!! Good guy too.
