I haven't forgotten to update this, just been traveling the world and extremely busy. I should be back on it in a month and will provide some updates! Have lots of parts at home waiting to go on it.

Quotetxas2step That appears to be an original seat cover. Aside from the tear, the seat was in amazing shape; springs, pad, rails, etc.

Picked up a seat on ebay and had it shipped to my house. My father took it for me to a local guy that does upholstery on the side. He's going to redo the padding and black vinyl for $175. I'll let you guys know how it comes out and post a pic up when it's done. This is what I started with:

QuoteJimmyMustang I just got my mirror arms from Mark today in the mail. They look great! Same here! I'm out of town, but I saw them via text pic and they look awesome. I'll toss a pic up once I get back home and put them on.

Quotetxas2step Since this discussion,I just noticed that the '61 with the babe in front( Sweptline Showcase above) has the large rear window option. I never noticed that either!

QuotePwrWgnDrvr Haven't done it all the way through, but have removed the various parts to do so. I have a 61 project that the PO removed the small and installed a big. I don't like the big, so intend to convert back. Its at the spot weld stage, where it waits motivation to finish. Yes, there are more panels than just the filler at the sides. IIRC, it requires a different panel under

I posted this pic before, but I didn't point out my plan. Someone hacked out my rear window years ago. I found a panel with the small window while I was in California and brought it back. My buddy is going to weld it in. He says it is simple enough, but it looks complicated! From what he says and research shows that multiple panels inside have to be removed, rewelded, and then spot welded ba

Quotetxas2step Just go to the hardware store and find a nylon grommet/bushing that fits the inside of the top of the pedal rod and some brass washers in front of the cotter pin...that's what I used on several of my trucks. Thanks, sounds easy enough. It's just hard to figure out when you never see how it's truly supposed to be from the start.

QuotePwrWgnDrvr There is a rubber grommet with a flange one side. Other side there is a large flat washer, small washer, cotter pin. Thanks!

Quotew500 Quote66D200GAWhat about the end that attaches to the pedal? Same? The pedal just sort of sits on top of the rod. It doesnt really even attach to it. This is the piece I am talking about, where it goes back and has a 90 degree bend that was cotter pinned into a round hole on the gas pedal. It originally had some sort of plastic bushing, but it fell through the trailer I had the truck o

QuotePwrWgnDrvr The rod from the pedal has a bend at the end that goes thru the hole on the carb, then a clip snaps on to hold it in place. No bushing. What about the end that attaches to the pedal? Same?

QuotePwrWgnDrvr I put the stock oil bath filter on that carb on my 62 W300. Found a pipe with the exact id as the carb rim and used about 3" to lift the filter above the carb. Extended the retainer bolt with a coupling nut and piece of all thread. Wing nut holds the entire thing in place. Its been working excellent since 1986! That's the beauty of working on old cars that aren't

QuoteKaegi polys are very very smooth runner. I have found Chryslers factory balancing to be really good. I read a description on a D500 grain truck that was for sale by some farmer in Nebraska and the way he described the poly powered truck was "its the quietest piece of equipment on the farm." they tow like a big block too. I can't wait to get it on the road! Like I sai

QuoteKlebert L. Hall Just make sure you get one with a manual choke. The Carters are good carbs, but the automatic choke on them was a terrible PITA. Pretty sure all the trucks had manual chokes anyway. -Kle. Thanks for the heads up. I did end up getting a manual choke on the one I ordered.

Quoteswptln Yes, that is the type, but it wont accept the oil bath air cleaner. I'm running the same carb on my 68 W200, but I converted to the open style air cleaner. Great, Thanks! I can get the carb and then work the filter issue out later. I might just order one of those adaptors (I posted earlier in this thread) and see if it fits.

I'm having trouble identifying the correct carb. Can someone please share the exact model that would work on my 66? I know it's a carter 2 barrel, but I'm seeing a variety of carbs. For example low and high versions. Also none of the ones I am seeing have the air cleaner bails. Has anyone ever tried the clamp on air cleaner brackets? Thanks!

Quoteswptln Welcome to the forum Nick. Looks like you got yourself a nice project. As Terry pointed out the 318 was a option as was all V8's, the 225 was the standard engine for your truck. The Carter 2-bbl is the easiest and best carb to run on the 318's. A few guy's have converted to the Holley/Motorcraft 2300 series, but you have to run an adapter plate and it needs to be mod

QuoteKlebert L. Hall Quote66D200GA So the carb on my truck is not a stock carb, but a quadrajet. It runs smoothly, but I don't like the idea of having a 4 barrel on a two barrel intake. I will likely go back to stock. What carb do you guys recommend? Not stock, but I'd go with a Holley 2300. Nice carb, simple install, but will probably need an adapter plate. -Kle. Thanks for t

Updates for mid-65 included a wider tailgate and the replacement of the A series engines with the updated LA series. In 1967, the D Series trucks received big-bl
