Hi guys! Just a seperate post for attention on this. For all you Townie owners Precision Rubber Products gasket 75-690 or 75 690, whatever, works pretty good for the rear doors glass. Original dried up piece measures 7/8" wide and the new stuff measures 1-1/16" so it's a bit wider. T

The center part that is the filler between door metal edge and glass edge is very slightly thicker, maybe a 32nd if that, but glass does fit down in the channel & dimension is correct for door metal thickness & glass thickness.

It has an integral lock strip like windshield rubber, which I think it is. Cuts easily with a sharp knife. I fitted to door and left zero gap plus overfilled, that gasket is under compression in opening, no water gap at bottom!

Installing gasket first, then fitting window at bottom, rolling gasket lip out of the way with a prick punch as I went along worked okay. A little on the left, little on the right, working up to the top and it was good. Don't want to chip glass edge with your installation tool! You want a shiny shaft on that punch to reduce friction, and don't need the sharp tip! Ouch... Fortunately I had two punches so I could just leave the one sticking through my hand and finish the job with the other punch, not too much blood on the rubber and paint that way.

I suppose you could use a lubricant if you had a helper to control glass so it didn't walk or go crazy, working alone I don't know, hard call. Possibly a dauber sponge to just lube a small area, work gasket, move on & lube another section?

Installed it looks pretty good, as I mentioned it's wide so it gives a more filled opening. Try to get a pic up after the thunder storm & downpour stops.

I plan to use the same material to install the side glass, replacing sliders with solid glass, looks like a real winner there. Nice thing is that despite the thickness & width it easily formed to the tight corner radiuses in back door glass, those much tighter than side glass corners.
