Hey, all,
Got a vintage Snap-Op lower roller cabinet and can't remove the two drawers. These drawers don't have the pop-out releases on the sliders, like on the Snap-On upper chests, that you push out with a blade to disengage.
This one is a cabinet about 30"H x 27"W x 18"D, 2 upper drawers about 4" depth, and an open storage box area below with a lift-up sliding cover that slips up under bottom drawer, or slides down over front to lock.
There's a release lever inside the lower open bay on the left. You push that lever up to lock drawers for security, pull down to unlock drawers for access. Lever also moves some front to back, a little side to side, but apparently it isn't the lock to keep drawers from coming out of slides, tried about everything with that.
Already tried slicing myself to ribbons prying and cussing a blue streak, that didn't seem to help. Then the whole chest dumped over forward while trying to move it, scattering tools for days and that didn't help much either. Shoved a blade way back into slider tracks etc., no go. No locking screws, access holes, pop-out releases, no nothin'. Called Snap-on twice and they didn't have a clue!
Next step: fire up the hot knife....
