Hi All,
Looks like I may have got hold of an NP445 4 speed transmission, think it MAY have come out of a camper model. We didn't get the 445, just about everything in the small to medium range came out with the granny geared (6.68:1 ratio first gear)NP435, anything built by Dodge Trucks Australia, anyway.
I found a reference to a very early NP435 fitted with a remote control tower, could have either been linkage or cable, but not a lot seems to be known about them. One bloke on another forum thinks they may have been an option behind a big block V8 (maybe even IH ??) but would just about all be crushed and sent for scrap. I wasn't familiar with the designation, we didn't see any of the cab over/campervan/cab forwrd jiggers over here. Wondering if anyone can shed a bit of light on this, maybe someone who knows someone who has an old box squirrelled away? Only need the actual top bit that bolts onto the alloy bit with 8 bolts. Would save a lot of hit and miss engineering rather than making my own.
Cheers, Dave 64
