Hey, That's mine! Just got back to civilization and checked the site. This is great, THANKS MoparNorm! There isn't as much chrome as you think. Might be more stainless than chrome.

PwrWgnDrvr, I understand your support and endorsement of the Amp Gauge. I'm just not comfortable with the power that might be flowing should I be running all the lights it has, or that I'll likely add. The truck won't be a daily driver (not sure the locals, would appreciate a W-500 Fire Truck just running the streets) so I'm happy with the knowledge that I'll have to

Kaegi, I won't be running the pump, but it's all engine PTO driven. I do plan on keeping and playing with all the lights, both warning and spot (4 of them). The original 10ga alternator wires have all but cut up/butchered, and even one cut flush with the connector. So while replacing it, I'll still play it safe with the 8ga. I've seen a article (didn't keep it) o

Yea, It's kind of obvious to me, but the County it came from, well it's from the Ozark Foot Hills and you never know who's working for the County. I'm going to have to try and clean it off, it just doesn't show well, especially considering I now own property in the same county.

JimmieD, Hey THANKS. I always document what I can, figure it will come in handy later when I'm doing something else. Also with all the help others provide, I hope my work can return some of the favors and help others in return. The relay attached to the start circuit was also wired to the oil pressure switch, and the relay and it's wiring look to be Dodge Factory. The two other

Good Eye, yes it is. The 14K+ pound W500 with it's 6.8 gears and 8.25x20 tires needs all the power it can get. I'd hate to calculate the MPG's. The truck's electrical system and load was changed by Maxim Fire Truck Company, and it's running a larger output Delco 10SI Alternator, and running 8ga wire. So I'm concerned that the extra loads and larger wire might b

OK, I've started the process of cleaning up the wiring on my 1964 W500 Power Wagon Fire Truck. I've used MoparNorm's wiring schematics and have figured out the dash connectors, including the Accessory connector. There was apparently a low oil pressure shut off setup on the truck at one time, but the dash side connections have been cut/removed. I've got an extra relay un

PwrWgnDrvr, Yes one hose per side, and the list of part numbers are all the different part numbers the single hose goes by. Depending on your parts store, which number they want/use. I found CarQuest to be the only store hers to help me and find the part. The metal lines are 8" long 1/4" lines I bent myself to be close the the stock ones. On my truck both were slightly differen

Was wondering if anyone has any good pictures/illustrations of where all the knobs are placed on the Dash of our Sweptlines? I have a W500 Fire Truck, and have a couple of extra switched (Lights), but also have some extra holes. Not sure if/how many of the knobs are in there correct location, or what might be missing/extra. Thanks, Will My Power Wagons Page

Thanks guys. Here is a picture of the Trucks Twin (unless I discover it's an old picture of the same truc: The fender skits, even though ugly, they are original from the Fire Conversion Shop, as they have a shaped edge. Yes, the engine is original. A 361 V-8. When I get back next week, I'll start looking at those locations for dates. Where is the engine Serial number? M

Well I've picked up my self another Power Wagon. this time a Sweptline W500 Maxim Fire Truck that weights 13,420 pounds! It's bounced around between fire departments, and who knows how many titles. The one I got states it's a 1963, but when I decode the VIN (2581318168) it comes back as a 1964. Pictures at: My W500 Power Wagon Maxim Fire Truck Thanks, Will
