I'm using Ray Suiter's V-8 kit which has the large front plate mount. The transmission is an NP435 with Chelsea PTO. I also have the power steering setup. Thanks, Ron

Will your headers work if I have the PTO driven winch shaft coming through? Thanks, Ron

Terry, If you have a good center dump manifold, I'd be interested in buying it. How much do you want? Thanks, Ron

I'm running a 318 Poly in our '49 FFPW and now have a cracked driver's side exhaust manifold. The exhaust system does have flex joints but someone on the Power Wagon Forum suggested I use split nuts instead of regular ones. Could that be the problem? Also, does anyone have a center dump manifold they'd be willing to sell me? Thanks, Ron

I gather from all the helpful information everyone's supplied that the disks, not the cups, are correct for this engine. Perhaps the engine builder didn't seat one of them well. I have brass ones and will give that a try. Thank you, Ron

My block does have the step as shown in JimmieD's photo. I can't find a year of manufacture on the block, though. Did early blocks not have it stamped? I've got the cup type coming. If they don't fit, is it safe to assume that my block needs the dished ones? Thanks for all the help (and Norm, I hope you're feeling better), Ron

Gary, I'm really confused with my Poly. I can switch the dished type out for the cup type for the three plugs on each side of the block. But I don't see any plugs for the heads. I can't even find the year of manufacture on this block (if it's supposed to be in the location shown by Norm's photo). I already have brass cup ones on the way and just received the dished o

I'm able to easily see the back of the heads, and there aren't any plugs there. There aren't any in the front either. What does that mean?

I guess I have to pull the engine to get to the plugs in the rear of the block.

13. Oh no!
I had this engine rebuilt by a "professional" builder. I guess I should change the plugs. Besides the six (three on each side) on the sides of the block, are there others? Thanks, Ron

The hole has a recess about 1/8" in. The plug sits on that shoulder. Did the Polys change to a cup type plug later on?

Mine are the disk, not the cup type. Shouldn't I use a large drift to pound the domed center? I don't think NAPA has the disk type.

I lost a freeze plug on the 318 Poly last night during its maiden run. I've heard the brass ones are better. Does anyone have a source? I believe they are 1 5/8" dia and the concave disk type (not cup). Thanks, Ron
