Autolite 85 or 86 are correct plugs for the A318 poly head engines in most cases, cross to any other like plug if you choose...However, if you have the class 3 engine (what your D500 should have), see below..... Engines are not, cranks are, so with a crank swap it should work..... what the issue is--- cranks are differant length, shorter after 61 as well as the 6 vs 8 bolts... other than a few other miner changes, i.e.- oil pump and oil pump drive shaft will not swap between blocks, all other parts will interchange between the two poly A318 engines

Yes, well worth the upgrade... Switch and motor are matched set. Verable speed motor has 4 wires and a matching switch.... single speed motor has just 2 wires...... Check your motor frist, see how many wires it has, if it has 4 then you more than likely just need the matched switch and someone had a switch burn out an replaced it with the wrong switch. You only need to upgrade the motor

IF wire harness is at least close to stock, then I would say find the hot wire that comes off the key that is made to run the regulator. In stock app's this will run from the fuse box (were it gets switch power) to regulator... <blake 18 gauge hot with key on run> hook to plug side of reg..... you may have to add the black wire depending on if the wire is already included in you
