Each spark plug tube has a rubber o-ring at the top which can harden and fail.

Thanks. So if those gaskets on the plug sleeves fail that wont let oil seeping out of the valve cover to run down and get to the plug tip? It seems like it might do that. But anyway. Leaking valve stems, hmm I wonder what's involved with fixing that? I've got manuals on the way so just thinking out loud. And I'm taking the tank to a local guy tomorrow if that's a fai

Hello everyone. I'm a new 68 d200 owner. I bought it running, barely, and am working on cleaning it up. Pulled the gas tank, leaking and the radiator, leaking too. A source for replacement or repair would be helpful. But mostly I'm concerned about the oil on the plug tips. Is that a sure sign the head gasket is blown or could it be the spark plug tube seal failing along with a valve
