I ended up getting it from NAPA only because I could see it before buying it but it cost me al little more that way. I first purchased the HB88107-A but found it does not have any slingers with it. I ended up getting the HB88107-B. Has both front and rear slingers and the rear one acts as the retainer. Have a driveline shop install it. Its worth it.

After 4 misfires from both O'Reillys and NAPA I ended up at the Driveline Specialist shop where they sold me (3) #7260 U-joints heavy duty model with a "standard" grease zerk in the cap not that odd ball tiny flush zerk that no one can find. Took all of 20 minutes to install all 3. case closed.

Thanks guys, the plan is to see what the local parts store brings in tomorrow. If no good, then I will try the NAPA part and yes I there is a driveline specialist here that helped with pressing on my new carrier bearing I will try last. I will try to post results. thanks........Alan.

The 246 and 315G I purchased/looked at were identical and neither fit. I saw that on the first round of parts O'Reilly brought in. The parts are just plain too wide by 0.100". NAPA is stumped (no surprise there) and O'Reilly's is trying a second round of U-joints. This seems to be a common issue with older drive shafts needing a u-joint with 2.125" between the machine

Experiencing a fit problem with u-joints for my 66 Dodge D100. ALL the parts books say a Moog 246 or 315G fits, but it does not. The u-joint is too wide for the internal snap rings to fit. 1.078" cap but about 0.100" too wide. ALL the yoke ends are the same measurement so nothing out of whack on the driveshaft. Anyone have some insight to this?

Pretty sure the motor has never been out and that beam could probably support the whole truck without bending. After reading a few other posts, it has to be either a factory adjustment to alignment or done afterwards with a lot of force. Still looking for a definitive answer but those are the most likely so far. Thanks.

Welcome, just picked up a 66 myself a few months back that took me about the same time to find. what does yours have for motor and tranny? Mine is pretty rough and collecting parts now. We should stay in contact to compare notes and maybe exchange parts.

This is definitely a quest. I found the right model truck but it is rough. Amazingly all the gauges work, horn works, runs, drives, stops, and even the emergency brake works. The body is shot. All parts are needed. Other priorities now but will be taking the box off (pretty much a total loss) and assessing what all I need in about a month.

Good stuff guys.............keep it coming if there is more to the body exchange stuff. Looks like I will stick with the '61- ‘66 cab and doors. The box is almost a total loss so good to know I can go up through ’71 on that and the fenders. Was it common for these trucks to have a “Posi” or “Sure-Grip” rear end? The one I had in high school definitely did not. I know this one does

OK, I noted this. The door handles are the only difference on 67-68 and the cabs are still the same right? I could use a 67-68 cab and put 66 doors on it. I am not sure I understand the 300+ cabs have a different floor?? Do you mean that there are 300 different floors or there are 300 made that have a unique floor? What other than a 4-speed tunnel cover would be different? Thanks.

John, do these interchangeable years apply to a D200 as well? They are the same body right? thanks...
