You'll need the LA318 mechanical bell and corresponding flywheel. The radiator in the Slant 6 equipped trucks would be a bit weak for a 318 too. I'd look for the proper radiator and 7psi cap. You'll need the correct brackets that bolt onto the engine. The insulators from your Slant 6 can be used on the LA 318. For clutch pressure plate, throw out bearing and pilot bushing, go to ww

Quoteswptln I'm going a different route on mine, I decided to put a 727 in the W200. So, I'm going to just keep my stock heater and install the dealer AC system that I already have. The dealer AC will fit now that I wont have the shifter for the 435 in the way. Mark, I'm assuming short tail shaft so you can keep the NP201 t-case? Do you have the frame cross member? Will you us

Quoteswptln The frame reinforcement is for the 727 automatic option, where they cut out the factory bell housing mount/cross member and install a spreader type cross member to allow clearance for the 727, it's kind of a hack looking thing, but factory. Actually, I think the frame reinforcement SERT is for additional channel steel that is welded to the bottom of the length of the truck f

I did what the Dodge Truck Division did when they made an auto tranny truck. The '69-'71 tranny cross member is massive, as compared to the '68 & earlier version. Additionally, it is attached to the top and bottom of the frame rails as opposed to being bolted to the sides like the '68 & earlier cross member. There were "C" channel spanners and also angle s

So, the LA318s used in Sweptlines had cast cranks in them? I wasn't sure on this. I do recall that pre '73[?] 340s had forged cranks .... but never knew about the 318s.... John
