Hi Chaps This may sound like a dumb question but what can go wrong with the power steering pump? I developed a leak from the front seal so I changed the pump for another one I'v had laying around for years when I first started the engine it was great but then it started to get heavy now it see

Hi Chaps
This may sound like a dumb question but what can go wrong with the power steering pump? I developed a leak from the front seal so I changed the pump for another one I'v had laying around for years when I first started the engine it was great but then it started to get heavy now it seems to be pulsating I tried jacking the truck and turning back and forth but its still not right So could it be the pump is bad? if so I'll revert back to the old one but how to change the front seal? and what else can I do by way of servicing it?
