Yes, I'm also concerned about what I see between the lines. A current administration and a whole bunch of environmentalists are committed to changing the entire structure of automobiledom. The save the planet crowd wants electric cars & hydrogen propulsion and all sorts of other whizzbang gadetry & technology applied for zero emissions footprint, regardless of consequences.
Add to that a CEO whose prior experience is BATTERIES & CHEMICALS! Electro-chemical/electric/battery powered cars are NOT the answer, but I can imagine what's coming down the line in the near future. A driving experience with all of the thrilling sensation of a computer monitor and all of the shockwave of acceleration & driver feedback of a desktop mouse. I can just hear the thunderous hummmm of roaring microvolts and smell that pungent odor of ozone pouring out the exhaust. They'll need to apply buttjab technology to keep drivers awake, but it seems these folks are experts in that field.
