i have been offered a trade on my truck that i am seriously considering, but before i do i need some questions answered. the truck is an 84 or 85 1/2 ton long bed... /6 with the 833 4spd overdrive trans and 323 rear gears. real good running truck. barely 100k on it, and the old slant purrs like a k

hey russ, the way i see it, anything too complicated to understand is junk...hahahahahaha
if i get the truck the first order of business will be a 2bbl carb and a straight up electronic ignition system. the truck has some great potential as a reliable driver and future organ donor for a sweptline. but that clatter makes me real nervous. could be simple, could be worn out valve springs and time for a full on rebuild. just have no idea till i trade and tear into it, then its too late.
