What year did disc brakes first appear on the 1 ton trucks? or maybe I should ask if they ever? thanks

With a Dana front it should be a pretty easy swap. You need the disc/drum master and maybe add a proportioning valve and the stock disc brakes off of whatever Dodge you find. Please use new front brake lines. There's also rear disc setups for your Dana rear.
