Gas gauge problems come up every now and then, including the float assembly developing leaks. I was cruising the '62-'65 Mopar website looking for something unrelated and found a note from a member there. For a replacement float hit your local Ford dealer and request part number COAZ-9202

The ferd part number is: COAZ9202B

...and I've found brass, plastic and cork used as floats in our tanks, often somewhere in the past 51 years owners change things to keep 'em running.
