Hate to complain but recently, for the last couple of months, I have to Log In every time I visit in order to view in Threaded Mode or post replies. There's no place at Log-In for 'Remember me' to accept a non-volatile cookie, so the log-in is dumped as soon as I leave the forum to g

Phorum uses a cookie to retain your login session. It's possible the cookie has become corrupted on your system. Try removing the dodgesweptline.org cookie (or simply remove all cookies if you are not concerned about keeping the others).
Then login again to set a new cookie. Hopefully that will fix it.
