Hey Kaegi, I don't know if this info will be any help at all? I had a heck of a time figuring out what I had with a DANA 60HD axle out of a '78 Dodge D-200. As you may know that's similar to a DANA 70 but in a DANA 60 modified [reinforced housing] carrier, having the HD full floating axles instead of a 'normal' DANA 60's semi-floating, and using the 9.75" D60 ring gear instead of the D70's 10.54" ring gear.
From what I found researching, the axle spline count seemed to be related to what model number the axle is in addition to the application, as in 3/4 ton, 1 ton etc. more than just specific model year changes. From what I could find the DANA 70 series would most likely be 35 spline. The related D60HD and other D60's would most likely be a 32 spline axle in a Mopar, but some were 27 spline.
There's a page at Pirate 4x4 about front D60's with lots of links to companies etc. that will have lots of DANA info, maybe even including Dodge D70's? I use Dutchman for axle mods and a phone call to them may get you a quick answer?
