We have a 69 D 100. We are trying to adjust the back of the hood down, so that its flush when closed. We've manage to get the drivers side down to where we like it. The passenger side, we are having no luck on. Its close, but we cant add anymore shims to the front bolt, because we are out of b

Terry,
It can be due to weak springs. I have one side on mine that is weak and adding the shims does compensate for bringing the hood down where it should be. On mine the hinge pivots are almost perfect. I thought the same until I pulled the springs off and compared them to the other side and there was almost a 1/4" difference in length.
