anyone know the correct color for tranny in 61-64 NP420s? all I see is a primer red color but wondering is was another color that just wore off after 500,000 miles.....

I believe it is just a primer, my 68 435 and 201 are the same color.
I would think based on Dodge using PPG that, DPLF 70 would be an exact match for it. DPLF is an urethane under-body primer which is also similar to what they used on the body as well. It comes in 3 colors:
DPLF 40 Green/Gray
DPLF 70 Red Oxide
DPLF 90 Black
