I have a 1971 D300 dually with a 4 speed trans. I believe it to be a NP 435. However, when trying to order a kt to install a GearVendor overdrive i have from a later Dodge with a 5 speed, the guys at GearVendor wanted to know which 435 I have. They told me to measure the distance between the two to

I just looked at a dozen trannies in my yard and trucks.
ALL in 69 and newer D200, W200 and W300 are the same. Long output shaft housing and trapezoidal bolt pattern.
ALL trannies in trucks with output shaft parking brake drums have a short housing and shaft and a smaller square bolt pattern. This includes older 420's as well as 435's.
U likely have the trapezoidal style, but it would be wise to crawl under and confirm.
Plastic trucks suck...
Iron trucks rule...
