which one gets better mileage. the WW3 or the BBD? this is on a 361

Going with the BBD is a lot more tunable for sure. The WW's were like having a faucet on your engine. 
The BBD is nothing but a AVS or AFB style carb with only two holes.
I had a WW on my 318 and swapped it out for the Carter and way better performance, mileage increased a little but not much, maybe 1-2 mpg at best. But, performance and drivability are like night and day. The Carter's are not as temperamental at idle with changes in weather like the WW's are.
I couldn't stand the WW, constantly tweaking the idle and mixture screws depending on the weather. The only thing the WW was good for was when you matted it, it would pull like hell on top end.
