thats funny, the poly runs cool by nature. have you checked the water pump housing for wear? i have seen a few that were worn out leaving the clearences around the water pump too large to flow water properly. or the pump itself could be worn on the impellers due to corrosion or such. siting around a lot tends to eat them away.
