I love our 2001 PT Cruiser. I think it's about the most roomy, versatile small car you can get. It's got about 113K miles on it now and I want a new one before they stop making them. A few days ago I was ready to buy one and drove over to my local dealer and asked about a new one. He said he didn't have any and didn't know how long it would be before he would get some. He did mention that he had a Calibre in stock. I said that we specifically wanted a new PT Cruiser and asked him to check if he had any even ordered. He reluctantly walked inside and looked at a printout and said no, none are ordered. I thanked him and drove away. My wife commented that he was the least enthusiastic car salesman she had ever seen, and I agreed.
It made me wonder if the current situation with the car business, especially Chrysler, has just zapped the energy and enthusiasm from most of the dealerships. This is a large dealership and normally very upbeat and lively. I've bought a couple of Dodges from them over the years and it's disappointing to see it like this now.
