It was not uncommon in the seventies to build super rads for mopars, especially big blocks with a towing package. It was enough of a problem that the Chrysler rep and I ended up smashing a block open because there were traces of core sand. We found blockage but keep in mind these were new low miliage units. A week later we had one with the same symptoms. Mr Mopar said don`t waste time, stick a short block in it. OOPs no sand haha See even the Chrysler elite can make errors.
