Hi Chaps

I'v always been one of those people that dont read instructions. I tend to cut corners, remove the guards on angle grinders,
I dont wear protective eye shields,
I hold pieces of metal while I drill them instead of clamping in a vice.
you get the general idea!
well I just got out of the hospital wednesday
I was using a circular saw on which the guard has always been stiff, i always meant to fix it
I was cutting a six foot length of wood down to size
I lifted the guard up as usual and cut almost to the end then lifted it over the stool I was using
I put the saw back in the cut and pulled the trigger
it leapt out of the cut and took off three fingers on my left hand
I spent twelve and a half hours in surgery
they have managed to re-attatch my index finger and my ring finger but the middle one was beyond repair.
I then spent three weeks in the hospital had leech therapy to get blood circulation working.
I'm now going to spend at least a year in hand therapy
I'm in intense pain
a nurse comes round three times a day to change the dressing
I have to attend the hospital plastic surgery department once a week
they tell me its gonna be around three months before ill get any kind of use from my hand
and at least a year before I'll use the fingers. if im lucky
all projects on the Dodge have stopped
I cant ride the motorcycle
the horses are a no no in case i knock it
I watch tv all day bored outta my scull
so if any of you are like me and cut corners take this as a warning
