There are several NV4500 trannies, at least 1 Chevy and 2 Dodge types. One of the Dodge trannies was used behind 360's and an NP435 is a direct boltup there, so the Dodge V8 NV4500 should fit to the 318. The other Dodge NV4500 was used in V10's and some Cummins 6BT rigs.
You would have to check the flywheel pilot bearing size and the stick-out on the input shaft. There's a nice roller pilot bearing for the NV4500HD used with V10's, not sure if it would fit your flywheel. Also your clutch throwout bearing must fit to the NV4500, that could be a problem?
I used a stock '67 Dodge Town Wagon slave cylinder & fabricated a pushrod from a Grade 8 bolt turned down, then drilled & tapped the NV4500 trans case and mounted slave direct to trans. This works fine with the stock hydraulic clutch master.
The stock slave cylinder for the NV4500 is a sealed unit, somewhat difficult to deal with in adapting.
