I understand Shartwig's thinking. None of us want to delibrately pollute the environment but I think in California they take things to the extreme. It seems that the people who make the laws regarding emissions there are not qualified to be making those laws. I'm thinking of them recently passing a law to make selling black paint for vehicles against the law, and to ban black cars because black absorbs heat and therefore the A/C runs more causing more fuel to be used. I think they quickly withdrew that one before it became widely known because of backlash from sensible people.
What worries me is that when Ca. passes emissions laws those laws usually become nationwide later on.
