The original post with 2 large images took 239 seconds to load at a true dialup speed of 31.2 according to CNET Bandwidth Speed Meter feedback.

Win XP Internet Explorer 6 is a lying slut, says I'm connected at 45.2 However the CNET Meter is more than conservative, other meters indicate higher speed: just retested on CNET, it now says I'm connected at 17.8K!?? Tested @ CNET again, it now says 24.8K. Tested again, says 18.5K.

Testing at: homepage.eir.net/~leslie/testpage/testpg56.htm and it says connected at 2750bps throughput. Second test there 28080bps. Third test 26240bps.

says 24.574 Kbps. Second test thhere shows 24.684 Kbps

So, considering the pathetic crapola dialup speed, not bad at all, even on very large images. Would be nice from my perspective if there was a maximum size just a wee bit smaller.

It's always a problem on dialup when there's more than one image to load because of the pixtel juggling act.
