I celebrate this day every year by driving my WC52 through the parking lots at WalMart and the malls and running over all the Mitsubishis (Builder of the Jap Zero), Kawasakis (Builder of the "Betty" bomber) and other companies that contributed to the enemy war effort - and hollering, "Remember Pearl Harbor!"
Okay, douse the torches. A little humor from one who used to work on Ford Island and take the military ferry past the Arizona and then drive past the Utah every day.
Unlike many of my generation who were around before Pearl Harbor, I hold no bad feelings toward the Japanese. I do blame their leaders for making many bad decisions.
As one who retired after 20 years in the US Army, I remember Pearl Harbor for its lessons about poor planning and lack of preparedness by our leaders.
The lesson for all of us is, "Prior Planning Prevents Piss Poor Performance." That is true to day.
