Well, I am releived to see they were apparently wrong. The world didn't end. And this site is still here. I haven't posted lately because of other problems and/or diversions, but I was hoping Mopar Norm might read this and respond to let me know how he is doing. How are you, Norm? Jerry

QuoteMoparNorm QuotePwrWgnDrvr THANKS NORM! Its been a great decade. Thank you Terry and don't forget your jet boat leash! Ha Ha. Now that's the kind of memory and humor that we all appreciate about you, Norm. I have related that story of Terry's many times. I guess I like it so well because I have similar boat stories of my own.

Norm. I just want to say thanks for all your efforts over the past 12 years. I really appreciate your sense of humor and your ability to be serious when needed. Nothing can make a man take stock of his life than some sort of hardship toward his loved ones or himself. I hate to see the site end, but I would hate more to think that it ended at the sacrifice of you and your health or happiness.

QuoteSnapper Hey all, does anyone have a source on front disc brakes for a w200? Did you check out the lead I posted on the disc brakes?

QuoteKaegi that is true but you could of had some bad linings. Napa used to sell a premium lifetime guarentee shoe that was so hard that lock up was unachievable at any speed. they made them that way so no one would wear the shoe out. they dont sell them anymore for good reason. I had a set of those shoes on a truck once. Scared the daylights out of me when I had to make an emergency stop and a

QuotePwrWgnDrvr QuoteJerry in Idaho How do you know which one you've got? One is big, one is small.... I had that figured out already, but thanks, anyway. So, have you shared this chest of knowledge with Snapper?

I didn't know that. So, what he is trying to find out, you probably could tell him. How do you know which one you've got?

They left the factory with an aluminum tag fastened by two of the bolts that hold the cover on the differential. I have not heard of a "large" knuckle or "small" knuckle distinction on the Dana 44. I do know there is a difference in the "closed" knuckle and the "open" knuckle. It's quite obvious just looking at each end of the housing. The "open

Give these guys a call. I had them build a disc brake system for the front of my '66 Ford F350 with a closed knuckle Dana 60 front end. They used mostly Dodge components and provided quick, efficient service. Very helpful. And reasonable. I also added a hydraboost system which REALLY gives some stopping power. This unit is the same as current trucks are using. It's a fantastic upgrade,

A guy stopped by my house today. He saw my W300 and wanted to tell me he had 2 mid-60s D300 trucks that he was selling for scrap value in preference to actually scrapping them, which he intends to do in the very near future, if they don't get sold. One is a driver, the other is parts only. Both have fuel tanks that were used by a local fuel distributing company to transport fuel to customer

"Terry has a bout 40 of those, maybe when he gets back from Salmon Poaching he can help you out..." Ha Ha. That is if he doesn't run his jet boat aground trying to escape the fish and game officers.

Yes, the designers were, well, um, uh, talented in a very unusual way......This truck looks like it's blended with an International Travelall, or?

John. I re-wired by '46 WDX completely this last winter. I converted it to 12v, with an alternator, and added a fuse box. If you think about it, like Jimmie says, it's really quite simple. Do some Google searches and see if you can come up with a diagram. Is it possible you could remove the old harness and copy it? It took me some time, not working steady at it, but it wasn't that

Terry. Very cool article. It must have been quite a ride, sliding down that face. I looked all over, but I couldn't find the part about a Power Wagon. Where do I look on there? JH

John. I will email a couple of sketches of my adapters. I am wondering if you might have a Dana 70 rear axle unit that was built for duals that might have originally come from a W300 or D300 truck?

Yes. On the W500, the rims are made with an offset that allows them to line up. On the W300, I had some spacers made to compensate. The spacers were approx. 2 1/2" wide, one on each side, on the rear.

John.Sighting down from front to rear or rear to front on the outside of the vehicle should show the sidewalls of the front and rear tires to be either in line with each other or with an offset of 1" or 1 1/2" on both sides. If you are saying the sidewalls of the rear tires are not lined up with the sidewalls of the front tires, it's quite possible you have broken center bolts on

I bought one piece rims from Stockton Wheel a few years ago. I can run tubeless, and they are a lot less trouble to balance, and weigh a lot less than split ring wheels.

Isn't there an adjuster on the side of the box somewhere? Like a large nut with a smaller screw in the center. Loosen the large nut and turn the small screw clockwise just slightly to see if that corrects it.

This comment is not meant to insult or to criticize, only state my opinion. And that seems to be what this and other forums are all about. With the running boards, front valance, and flares removed, it looks much like a nice 100 or 200 cab. Nothing wrong with his choices, but if I were looking for a W500, which I am not, I would look for one that looked like one. I just sold my W500 and it'

Sorry, man, but I have to disagree. In my opinion the front fender flare is one of the hallmark features that make the truck a W500.
