Does anyone know the major differences in a D100 versus a D200? I know D200 hubs are 8-lug and the springs are heavier but is the frame the same as a D100? Are all the body panels the same? Thanks.....AC

I am looking for a 66 not a 65. I know they are the same but I had a 66............not yet, still working on it. Thanks, I will put PDQ in the hunt should I get fortunate enough to get the ride.

I am in need of an economical way to ship a truck across country about 1,600 miles. Who out there knows of a reasonable carrier that could do this for me? Cancel this request. No deal made.

OK, I think I have the whole picture now and agree on the long DS being a potential hang up. NP435 10-spline 4 spd, carrier bearing DS, cut out in floor, remove linkage from column and all is good. Thanks for the input. If there is anything else, drop me a note.

Thanks.......Sounds fairly simple to me. It is a LWB truck and a custom DS is pretty easy to come by. I would opt for a single DS versus a carrier bearing to eliminate another wear joint. Any other ideas on this? Does the floor have a plate bolted in or a recessed cut-out for the 4 speed?............cannot remember.

So I take it a 3 speed does not have a carrier bearing drive shaft? I am talking about a 1966 but should be the same right?

What all would I need to convert a 3 speed on the column to a 4 speed on the floor? I have no problems doing this myself and figured I would need a 4 spd tranny and a standard steering column but not sure about the bell housing and drive shaft. Anyone out there done this one before? Thanks.

Will the VIN numbers on these old sweptline trucks identify the transmission type? specifically; 3 spd from a 4spd? I assume they will but not sure. I do not have one to check but considering modifying one to the stock setup I want. Thanks..........Alan

I think we are all kind of tired of this one, and it is what it is at this point. I never got the chance to pass on buying anything. Whatever deal might have been there is gone and the new story says it is not for sale now so we all need to move on. It is up to Gordo to make any offers from here forward. My intentions were sincere. I do appreciate all the truck leads and I am sure you ar

Well, still out here looking and I don't care as much about mechanical issues or bad motors as long as it is all there to work with. Do you know what is wrong with it? Would you sell it as is and how much now? That is righteous of Earl to say that too. Alan.

Thanks John, I think I knew a couple of those but not the motor color and dash pad. As I search for the 66 I may look at a mid 65 or 67 as donor parts for sure but still want the 66 VIN truck. Until I get it I will keep learning more. Didn't care or keep track of this stuff way back in high school while I was beating the crap out of my 66........it took it extremely well now that I look ba

John, going back through this thread today. What are the significant changes or differences between a 66 and 67 D100 or a mid 65? Alan.

Thanks John. I have looked at a few in that range but nothing that fits the bill just yet. I spend months finding just daily driver cars so I am pretty patient and also pretty particular. I am hoping to find it between now and this summer.

I am in Omaha, Nebraska. Cost is always a function of what it is, where it is and condition but not looking to spend more than 2-3K for a project. I know cars/trucks and how to rebuild them and have done several but not looking to make a show car again, just a nice looking good old truck. My preference is an original unmolested vehicle. Getting something out of CA to NE might not be the cost
