Re: Never a dull moment spending my luck
Terry. Your experience reminded me of what happened to me on Memorial Day about 12 years ago. A friend and I were out fishing in a big bay in our local Lake Pend Oreille. It had rained all day and my little 14' boat had taken on some water. I decided to head across to the shore on the other side and as I accelerated all the water came to the back of the boat. As I neared shore I made a turn, at which time all the water shifted to one side, tipping the boat to the side, and my friend fell out. His going over board cause the boat to shift the other way and out I went. My friend panicked and tried to climb back in, and the boat rolled over, dumping everything out, and submerging the outboard motor. He climbed up on the overturned boat and since there was only room for half of me, my legs had to dangle in the water behind. The only thing keeping us from sinking was the air bubble trapped under the hull. We were in 55 degree water for over an hour before some guy saw us from the road, then went home and got his boat and pulled us to shore. Needless to say, we were lucky someone saw us.
