Well the muriatic acid is not commonly used on auto glass, but it's used by pro-window cleaners. I helped a buddy in a window cleaning business for quite a while and several commercial & residential accounts had sprinklers that gave a daily wash of highly mineralized water causing serious problems, heavy sheets of white crud. Diltue muriatic works best but its dangerous & for pros only, can also weaken the glass. Apparently the two outer surfaces of glass in tension over the interior structure are what gives glass its strength, muriatic can downgrade that...

So, I just finished: used a Scotchbrite pad & Palmolive because I saw deep scratches in glass and didn't want to mess it up with abrasives if it's that soft!

Used some of my new Precision #75-690 weatherstrip, a real cussing, cursing balspheming business all right. Suggest it's a 2 man job, but as usual the other guy never showed up.

Came out pretty fair, but seems like the glass is pressed outward toward back of truck a wee bit, as in proud of the door opening, maybe I can work it in over time.
