I did discover they aren't a direct bolt up also. I decided not to get it but instead look at mine more. I bought the truck 4 yrs ago I poured fuel down the carb and it started and ran after 25 yrs! It had a dried up fuel pump so it wouldn't stay running. So I then rebuilt the carb, new fuel pump, rebuilt the distributor,new wires and plugs and even did a timing chain and waterpump too. I freshened it up, problem was it started good and idled great BUT the motor wouldn't rev up and would start shaking... I figured something internally was wrong? Well fast forward to now since I decided not to get the motor but dig into the problem with mine. First thing I did was a compression test and all the cylinders were within a few psi of eachother between 100-110 average was 105. So that looked okay, I then adjusted the Valve lash and looked at the valvetrain and everything looked fine, everything opened and closed good. So I didn't think the cam had worn out lobes. I then turned back to the carb since on the idle circuit it runs fine but increasing the rpm it hits a wall. I thought maybe a Venturi was plugged but everything was good there too. I don't know what it could be?
