We have a 69 D 100. We are trying to adjust the back of the hood down, so that its flush when closed. We've manage to get the drivers side down to where we like it. The passenger side, we are having no luck on. Its close, but we cant add anymore shims to the front bolt, because we are out of b

Its not the springs, its the worn hinge as I said above. If it were the springs, then that play when u push down would be normal. Its not.

When the hood is all the way up, there is almost no load on the springs and they come off without much effort and no danger. Don't know of anyone who has ever needed or sourced new springs. I doubt they are to be found.
