I recently purchased a rust free 68 D 300 which has had only one owner since early seventies. It has 52,000 original. . Strong 318 with NP 435 4 speed. Love this flatbed and the way it drives.!! ( up to 52 mph ) I want to refresh this D 300 and it will soon replace my existing newer dually. This D3

The post from Terry and Mark brought me closer to a likely scenario.
The consideration of taller tires only.
Even though I feel the 2nd 3rd and 4th ratio is perfect for my likings I reckon wheels and tires is best affordable.
One reason for my thinking so was due to an earlier ownership.
The W200 crewcab with 19.5s that I sold a few years back. I recall still being able to start out in first gear, not granny, while still getting 19.5 mpg hiway.
