My 1971 D300 had a two piece driveshaft with carrier bearing from the factory. However, when I had the aux. Spicer trans installed in 2004 ( the first time I owned this trucack, the factory drive train was removed/modified to fit the Spicer. So, with the GearVendor fitted, a new two piece driveshaft, crossmember and carrier bearing had to be made. YUP, cost some more $$$, but nice to see all the new parts installed and ready for years of service.
