To finish my 1960 W500 Power Wagon, I sourced a 318 poly that I believe is a 318-3. The engine is in and runs fine. I can’t recall exactly, but I think the engine needed several peripheral parts. Thanks to everyone who responded.
I feel better about the situation.
I'll look at the number on the front of the engine to see for sure what it "is", and report. May be in a week or so.
