I found the number on the passenger side, front of block: 2468230. It’s possIble the “6” is an “8” . And ideas? I’d like to see if the engine is the 318-3 truck poly. This engine is not original. When I found the truck in a salvage yard there was a non-running LA engine in it. I wanted the “correct

The early polys, prior to around 64, have a different crank that is a bit longer and the flywheel is bolted on with through bolts and a nut. They're a huge bitch to get off! So the early Swept/PG polys are not the same as later polys.
The -3 poly difference is something along the lines of hydraulic lifters, timing chain and lower compression. I don't remember exactly, been a long, long time. Was the -3 poly even offered in 60?
Where did you get the poly that you put in it?
I can't answer the decode question.
