I found the number on the passenger side, front of block: 2468230. It’s possIble the “6” is an “8” . And ideas? I’d like to see if the engine is the 318-3 truck poly. This engine is not original. When I found the truck in a salvage yard there was a non-running LA engine in it. I wanted the “correct

The later blocks would have had the cu.in. (third and fourth digits) 61 and 62 only, stamped with the engine number, but it's possible prior to 61 they were stamped differently. 1961-67 would have had letters designating the year.
TT = 61
VT = 62
AT = 63
B = 64
BT = 65
C = 66
CT = 67
Example: 1961 318 built on Aug 3rd would have been TT-31-8-3
1963 and up would be AT-318-8-3.
