Getting ready to bolt the Poly back into the Townie and am considering an electric fan. The setup was originally a slant six, I believe, and there was danged little clearance for the fan when I took it out (and some damage to the radiator). So I was thinking about one or more electric replacements.

whats wrong with putting on a shroud and running the stock poly fan?? never had a overheating problem with any of my polys that had a good rad. all had stock fans, the crew had an a/c fan with a few more blades. all ran around 185-190 even fully loaded. ran 180 t-stats in all of them. come to think of it, none of them had shrouds either, just the fan and a good rad. by good rads i mean not plugged and fresh. 2 trucks had 2 core stockers, the crew had a 3 core a/c rad. if i were going to run an electric, i would run duals. run a complete shroud to block all area except where the fans are. run them as pullers. run them with one on a t-stat and one on a switch as a back up. set the t-stat at around 190. just my 2 cents.
