Hi guys! Have any of you ever used a 'shrinking disc' for bodywork? I had really extensive body damage to the rear of the Town Wagon, it was a 'total' then it got rear-ended again! I amazed myself in that I was able to stretch & pound it all out, very close to original. The

the problem isn't so much the disc getting away from you but when the disc decides to let go or breaks apart it can be quite dramatic and little pieces of metal go flying everywhere.

what many people don't share on the web or in the DIY articles is while the disc is purported to be a shortcut i have found with my parts pile there are no short cuts in body work. find out the best practices and do the time. you'll be better served.

i would recommend the torch method that Richardson describes in the book especially if you have a feel for the hammer and dolly.

if you do try the disc method then go slow and be sure to wear full face and arm protection...
